Well, I recieved a letter today that tells me that I am SUSPENDED for at least 30 days! Ain' t that special.... And the reason behind it is just as ignorant.. I missed a class. Yup. Thats it! Honest mistake and now, no work for me. Not only can I not work, but I cannot attend classes or hold a Union Card. Sooo... lemme figure this up.... this will make it... oooohh about 5 months off this year. AND I had a job to go to on Monday, but noooooooo, I have to call and tell the guy that I can't work for a month. And as an added bonus, I have to get a Contractor to give me another Letter of Intent before I can be reinstated into the Union.. Now, a Letter of Intent is the 1st thing you have to get before you can ever join the Carpenters program. Basically what it is, is its a letter that says that a contractor intends to hire you at 1st term (8 terms in the apprenticeship, then you get your journeymans card). Now, here lies the problem.. For some reason, contractors don't like giving out Letters. And I'll need one that says they will hire me on as a 6th term apprentice.. so, this will be interesting for sure.... Not happy at all.....
